Appropriate For All Ages

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

I have a little child with a big vocabulary. His way of asking about movies in our collection is “Is this appropriate?”. It’s awesome, especially since we have a huge movie library here with every horror movie and every kid’s movie you can imagine. It got me thinking about those special movies that really are appropriate for the whole family. We are gearing up for Spring and Summer events, which always includes lots of school events and fund raisers, so I wanted to do a quick list of films that will get everyone excited about your movie night. Here’s a Top Ten Appropriate list for you to consider: “Up”, “E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial”, “Finding Nemo”, “Back to the Future”, “The Princess Bride”, “Goonies”, “Madagascar”, “Shrek”, “Meet the Robinsons”, “Everyone’s Hero”. Why not let the kids vote?! Contact us today for more ideas or to schedule your Outdoor Movie Night, we have some great school specials and would love to work with you!

Rain in LA

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Rainy days give those of us in Outdoor Events a chance to relax. Assuming of course that you weren’t already outside getting ready for a show and throwing your body on top of your projector when it started raining! Anyway, today started with rain and so I took advantage of the break and got started on a much-postponed project — cataloging my movie library! I must say, it was like looking at a scrapbook of the last couple of years. I remembered big shows screening Fellini’s “8 1/2″, and small shows screening “Everyone’s Hero”. I smiled thinking about taking my son to see “Cars” in La Quinta and “Beetlejuice” in West Hollywood. I remembered my first event in Santa Barbara with “Hidalgo”. It made me realize that one of the keys to picking the perfect movie for your event is to choose something you love and want to share. People love to see old favorites outside so don’t be afraid to go to your own “classic list” and pick something you have always enjoyed.
